In 2025, Hanoi Medical University (HMU) sought support in training its students in methods for conducting high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Using funding from an NIH D43 training grant, HMU hired Facente Consulting to provide training in a hybrid (i.e., virtual and in-person) format.
In this project, Facente Consulting implemented systematic review and metanalysis training in two phases. In the first phase, we led three 3-hour training modules virtually to introduce students to the research concepts and protocols. In the second phase, which occurred a few months after the virtual training phase, Facente Consulting led five half-day training sessions in-person at HMU. Training materials included recordings, slide decks, handouts, and exercises that introduced systematic reviews and metanalyses while scaffolding the steps required for these methods. By the end of the training, students were prepared to conduct their own systematic reviews and meta-analyses with the support of a mentor.
