Serving as a model for other city governments, San Francisco’s Office of Transgender Initiatives (OTI) works with communities and the city to advance equity for transgender, gender non-conforming and intersex people. OTI has been integrally involved in groundbreaking work such as universal basic income for trans women and the city’s Ending Transgender Homelessness Initiative.
Facente Consulting was contracted to facilitate a strategic planning process around the next steps for OTI for the next three years. We talked with internal and external stakeholders to develop a landscape analysis, and then led a planning group through a series of discussions to determine the strategic priorities for OTI’s efforts. The final product was a completed strategic plan to guide the work of OTI until 2027.
