Systematic Review Training for Students at Hanoi Medical University

Hanoi Medical University

Project Years: 2025

In 2025, Hanoi Medical University (HMU) sought support in training its students in methods for conducting high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Using funding from an NIH D43 training grant, HMU hired Facente Consulting to provide training in a hybrid (i.e., virtual and in-person) format.

In this project, Facente Consulting will implement systematic review and metanalysis training in two phases. In the first phase, Facente Consulting will lead three 3-hour training modules virtually to introduce students to the research concepts and protocols. In the second phase, which will occur a few months after the virtual training phase, Facente Consulting will lead five half-day training sessions in-person at HMU. Training materials will include recordings, slide decks, handouts, and exercises that introduce systematic reviews and metanalyses while scaffolding the steps required for these methods. By the end of the training, students will be prepared to conduct their own systematic reviews and meta-analyses with the support of a mentor.
