Sora began her working life in grade school at her mom’s dry cleaners, where she worked until she left home for college. After college graduation, Sora worked as an English teacher in South Korea, later moving on to writing, editing, and translating at various publication companies in Seoul. Since returning to the US, they’ve spent the majority of their working life in nonprofits and other organizations serving the public good, with focus areas ranging from environmental conservation to public health. For three years, Sora worked on a mobile medical clinic, bringing urgent care to unhoused San Franciscans and connecting people with primary care and other medical, mental health, and social services. Most recently, Sora managed operations at a national nonprofit that promotes gender inclusion for transgender and gender-expansive young people.
