In 2025, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Public Health Workforce Branch (PHWB) sought to strengthen their team’s approach to supporting the scientific workforce pipeline for CDC and state, territorial, local, and tribal health departments throughout the country. PHWB hired Facente Consulting to assist them in developing a new branch structure that would align with the current public health environment.
In this project, Facente Consulting supported PHWB by planning and facilitating a series of in-person and virtual meetings to elicit ideas for changes to PWHB’s operations. These meetings resulted in prototypes for optimal branch restructuring, and ultimately a final restructure plan that was recommended to CDC leadership and approved for implementation in summer 2026.
