Technical Assistance to Support Hepatitis C Surveillance

NASTAD

Project Years: 2020-2021

The Hepatitis team at NASTAD provides technical assistance to viral hepatitis prevention and surveillance personnel at state, territorial, and major city/county health departments. In 2020, NASTAD created a new national technical assistance center to support this work as a joint effort with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Center for State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial Support (CSTLTS) and the CDC’s Division of Viral Hepatitis (DVH).

Facente Consulting representatives Shelley Facente and Katie Burk were both selected to be part of the technical assistance team for the new TA center from 2020-2021, responding to requests for support as they arose. Requests included things such as developing TA materials related to use of data systems to enhance viral hepatitis burden analysis, optimal use of communicable disease or viral hepatitis-specific surveillance databases, and the development of tools to measure and address health inequities and disparities.
