Strategic Planning for UCSF’s Pain and Addiction Research Center

University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) – Pain and Addiction Research Center

Project Years: 2024-2025

The Pain and Addiction Research Center (PARC) at UCSF aims to accelerate science related to pain and addiction to advance and improve care. Just five years after its launch, PARC has grown to more than 100 interdisciplinary faculty members and trainees. To sustain its impact despite a modest budget, PARC is seeking strategic support for defining its priorities and next steps.

Facente Consulting was hired to guide PARC through a six-month strategic planning process. Facente Consulting will (i) conduct background research and assess PARC’s current programming; (ii) complete a landscape analysis, including interviews with key stakeholders; (iii) work with PARC staff and stakeholders over several meetings to develop a strategic plan; and (iv) create a communication strategy for disseminating PARC’s new strategic plan.
