Beginning in 2018, California made the largest investment ever in U.S. history into harm reduction programs. The California State Budget Act of 2023 included funding to extend and expand on an initial pilot project, the California Harm Reduction Initiative (CHRI), which was led by the National Harm Reduction Coalition (NHRC).
Facente Consulting is providing support gathering data, stakeholder input and lessons learned from CHRI to inform a new project, the California Overdose Prevention and Harm Reduction Initiative (COPHRI). Facente Consulting will develop a report and presentation that NHRC can use to shape internal infrastructure and technical assistance offerings and guide their future work.
