Treasure Island Visioning Process

One Treasure Island

Project Years: 2022-2023

One Treasure Island (OneTI) is a non-profit organization committed to creating a vibrant, inclusive community on Treasure Island that provides pathways for economic advancement for low-income San Franciscans, including those who have experienced homelessness. For this project, OneTI was seeking a community engagement consultant to facilitate the Treasure Island Visioning Process.

Treasure Island, a sub-community of San Francisco, is currently home to about 2,000 residents and is one of San Francisco’s most racially/ethnically diverse and lowest income neighborhoods. The Island is undergoing redevelopment, including residential and commercial buildout, that is expected to turn it into a neighborhood of about 20,000 people. The visioning process is an opportunity for island stakeholders, government leadership and the development team to co-create a vision and values statement for equity, inclusion and belonging as the community grows through redevelopment. This statement will reaffirm a shared commitment to this rare opportunity to develop a transformative example of mixed-income inclusion. Project activities include:

  • Vision and Values Development:
  • Community Engagement
  • Vision and Values Statement Refinement
  • Vision and Values Statement Finalization
