The Rafiki Coalition is a partner of the San Francisco Black Led Organizations Coalition (SFBLOC), which in early 2021 undertook a strategic planning process for their work in 2021-2024. SFBLOC is the first advocacy group created to serve local, Black-led organizations in San Francisco. This initiative brought together more than 50 Black-led organizations to implement cohesive strategies and achieve shared goals. More than $2 million in funding was generated in 2020 to build a thriving infrastructure that supports the Black/African American community, using a collective impact framework.
After a series of internal meetings, an SFBLOC committee produced an initial draft of a strategic plan for the Coalition, highlighting SFBLOC’s mission to advocate collaboratively for equitable funding to support San Francisco’s Black community in the areas of Housing and Black Arts & Culture. Facente Consulting was brought on to conduct a careful review of the draft plan and provide substantive recommendations for the final document, creating a strong foundation for the Coalition’s future work.
