The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) managed the mpox outbreak through community engagement, understanding and addressing the community’s concerns while coordinating a large vaccination distribution and deployment effort throughout the state. Although COVID outbreak responses had occurred recently, CDPH found itself laying new groundwork for how to best ensure equitable access to resources.
As such, CDPH partnered with Facente Consulting to document lessons learned, identify best practices, and develop an internal document as a roadmap for an equitable response to outbreaks in the future.
